Kerry Writer’s Museum in Listowel is hosting a series of events to celebrate the life and work of Kerry’s great poet Brendan Kennelly.
The lecture will be introduced by Gabriel Fitzmaurice with special guest Dr. Mary McAuliffe, in this lecture Declan will focus on the “lyrical” elements which conjoin the poetry of Kennelly with his critical writings and his work as a teacher.
Declan Kiberd was a student of Brendan Kennelly at Trinity College Dublin. He took a PhD from Oxford University for his thesis Synge and the Irish Language (1979;1992).
