Ireland has a long history of using skin boats known as curraghs or currachs. Around fourteen types are still in use along the west coast of Ireland.
A master builder will be demonstrating the building of the Dunfanaghy style currach, a type that incorporates hazel rods in the construction, at Bonane Heritage Park on Sunday 30th April from 2-4pm.
Admission to the heritage park is €5, and admission to the demonstration is free.
