Tom Crean Endurance Walks 2023

Join us for the Tom Crean Endurance Walks 2023, an epic cross-country journey spanning approximately 30 km across the breathtaking Dingle Peninsula.
Hosted by Annascaul Walks, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience. Known for its unrivaled scenic beauty, the Tom Crean Endurance Walk showcases the majestic landscapes of Mount Brandon, Brandon Ridge, An Geran, Ballysitteragh, Cnapan Mór, Windy Gap, Cnoc Mhaoilain, and the Annascaul River walk.
With a total distance of 30 km and an ascent of 1900 meters, this self-navigated walk requires a high level of fitness and mountain experience. Registration in February allows participants ample time to train and prepare for a remarkable day in the Kerry hills.
To ensure a smooth experience, walkers will be transported from Annascaul to Baile Breac, where the walk begins. Water depots will be available at Baillysitteragh, Connor Pass car park, and Coumdubh. While food will not be provided along the route, upon registration, you will receive duplicate walk numbers. Attach one to an extra bag that we will transport to the Connor Pass car park, allowing you to enjoy your lunch and drinks with fewer items to carry in your rucksack.
After completing the challenge walk and receiving your well-deserved Tom Crean medallion in the village, delicious food will be available to replenish your energy. Make sure to book your accommodation early, as there is always high demand, with options ranging from B&Bs to glamping pods and holiday house rentals.
The Tom Crean Endurance Walk is not a race but rather a personal challenge, with checkpoints along the route. Participants are expected to complete the full walk in under 12 hours, and cutoff times will be in place to ensure everyone’s safety. The sense of achievement upon finishing this remarkable journey is truly exceptional.
